We had a chat to Sonya, our amazing RUBY High St Manager, about spring dressing and what you'll find her in this season!

What is your favourite outfit from the RUBY & Liam spring 2013 collection?

My favourite outfit has to be the Liam Transcendent Skirt, paired with the RUBY Bird Shirt in white, knotted at the waist. This outfit finished with a bold red lip sums up our RUBY “The End” collection perfectly. It’s effortless, chic and crisp; very American at the Italian seaside. It highlights the brighter side of the collection’s inspiration, The Talented Mr Ripley. I also cannot praise the RUBY Silvana Shirt Dress enough; this may be the dress I have been waiting to wear my whole life!

What accessories are you lusting after this season?

I am so excited to get my hands on a pair of the RUBY Kingsley Flats in the soft pink suede, they are such a sweet colour for spring and I know I will just live in these. I also love the new Surface to Air sunglasses, SADKO in brown haze and SALOME in khaki are my favourites - they are the perfect complement to any spring outfit.

What do you love about spring dressing?

Spring is often considered to be an “in between” season, which I love. There is something charming about the way people dress during spring and autumn, as if they’re caught in between saying goodbye to one season whilst greeting the next. One day you can be all rugged up, but the next you’re in a silk dress with a light sweater over the top. The fabrics used throughout our spring collections are a lovely reminder that summer is just around the corner, from linen, to cotton, to bamboo polyester, everything’s a little lighter and a little softer.

What is your favourite thing to do on a sunny spring afternoon?

Nothing beats Hallertau Restaurant on a sunny spring afternoon. The food is amazing and in my opinion they have the best apple cider in Auckland. It doesn’t hurt that the scenery is beautiful and relaxed with a friendly Golden Retriever who lounges about the restaurant. It’s nice to get out of the city sometimes, even if it’s only a thirty minute drive.
