The Victoria is a three tiered mini dress that can be worn three different ways. To encourage circularity in fashion, the pattern uses repurposed bedsheets as its fabric, encouraging sewers to use fabric they already have. This pattern designed by MFNZ Circular Design Awards Winner, Olivia Schaw in collaboration with RUBY General Manager, Emily Miller-Sharma.
Available to purchase in a pdf form of sizes 4 - 28.
PDF Pattern includes:
1 x Digital Victoria pattern
1 x Printable instructions (includes yield, sizing, glossary, and all other info you’ll need)
Zero waste design does have its limitations, as does fitting it into one specific sized sheet. The Victoria Dress has been designed to fit multiple sizes and to be styled in many ways. This pattern is a one size fits most, fitting a size small to large best.
We recommend using a repurposed single sized bed flat sheet. The sheet can range from 160-180cm wide and 250-280cm long. The pattern takes into account this variation. Do keep in mind that the wider the fabric, the bigger the dress, and vice versa.
Alternatively, you can purchase 2.6 meters of fabric in a lightweight cotton, linen or something similar that has a nice drape.
You'll need:
sewing machine
overlocker or sewing machine with zig-zag stitch to replicate overlocking
Purchase of this pattern entitles you to use it for individual home use only. It does not entitle you to use the pattern for commercial use, nor sell the items you have made from these patterns. Thank you for respecting the designer’s rights and for supporting local business.

Liam Designer Emily Miller-Sharma explains: “Making things gives so much to people. There is a slowness in the very internal process that goes on when you make things with your hands that can be a powerful tool for wellness. It also shows us, quite viscerally, just how talented the people who make our clothes are, empowering and humanising these highly-skilled machinists in a way that words on a page can’t.”

Custom Sizing
We offer custom sizing in most current styles, should you be after a standard size which is outside the sizes we currently make, or need a style off the rack altered for an access need.
This service is designed to make our size range more inclusive for our Rubettes. If you wish to order a custom size, you will only pay the standard retail price of the piece you are buying as we believe everyone should be able to wear the clothes they love.
We currently do not offer custom sizing in knitwear or denim, as these styles are made offshore and require a higher quantity to be made, nor do we remake sold out styles in standard sizing. Please note that this is subject to fabric availability and this is not a made to measure service.
