She's Giving ~ GIVEAWAY
Alright you lot. I’m here to remind you that here in Aotearoa, we’re past our shortest day of the year! Aside from planting your garlic, it’s important to remember that from here:

Me: I’m noticing the Classic Winter Bummer feels deeper this year. Think rising living costs (and corresponding crisis), multiple wars, and a generally fraught global environment.
The cool thing about making clothes, and having IRL stores, is I am able to absorb the vibe of the people who interact with us. AND it’s my job to pick up on the vibe of what’s going on around me more generally – a colour, silhouette, musical obsession, linguistic shift.
AND THEN it’s my job to bring my own lil’ sparkle to the table.
You may know that I am Big On Glimmers when things feel glum. Seeking out – and sometimes going on a mission to chase down – the things that make you feel a little razzle.
Locally, our clothing and hospitality sectors are struggling. And, while many of us are Here For It in terms of wanting to support them, not everyone has the same “fun” cash they did a few years ago. From a hospo point of view, I’ve been seeing my locals putting out essentially what feels like a primary school tuck-shop special. You may have seen this with your locals too. Cheese toastie and a coffee meal deal anyone?
What I love about this is that they are like “Yeah it’s all a bit bleak, but we’re here, and you are here. How can we come together? What can we give you to bring you actual joy?”
And, as we all know, “You exist in the context of all in which you live and what came before you”.
