This month, we hosted our annual RUBY seminar, bringing together all of our store managers from across Aotearoa. Channeling a sense of back to school, we scrapbooked, made title pages, repurposed old pillowcases into recycled bookbags, and soaked up plenty of knowledge. Seminar was super valuable for me as an out-of Auckland Manager, in more ways than I could have imagined going into it. The power of putting faces to names of people we have interacted with online daily and what goes on behind the scenes far beyond selling clothes on the shop floor was so insightful. I had more light bulb moments in my head than ever before - learning about the process from an item's initial design, the journey it takes to reach the shop floor, and gaining an understanding of how decisions are made regarding style planning and booking months in advance, based on past data and future trend predictions. I gained such a fresh perspective on the myriads of parties involved behind the face of a business and that it really does take a village but damn, it really is a privilege to be a part of the RUBY village.

It was such a treat to come together with our IRL managers and Head Office team to learn, share, and create together - especially as we have managers who aren't based in Auckland it was extra special to have some in-person time with them! My brain felt like it was bursting after two days of incredible sessions led by our senior team in Head Office. A stand out from across all the sessions is the importance of data - knowledge is power and we are so lucky to have access to data that can give us a really in-depth insight into what is happening within the RUBYVERSE, and how we can use that data to make informed and impactful decisions x

I absolutely loved our RUBY Seminar for 2024. It was an incredible 2 days full of learning and sharing that left me walking away with more questions than answers, but in that kind of epic way that will allow for so much personal & professional development. A highlight for me HAS to be going through our upcoming Resort collection with our Marketing & Planning teams + our IRL Managers. The energy in the room was contagious, and I could be biased, but this might be my favourite one yet. I cannot wait to share it with our Rubettes very soon x
