In celebration of Ponsonby Mother's Day Market Day, RUBY Ponsonby was home to our very own RUBY Booth... A space to snap something sweet with the people who just get you.
We hear from the mother of RUBY herself ~ Chris Sharma ~ about what this special day means to her...
"Having a family business is one thing, but our family dynamic also carries through to the team at RUBY, especially when we all come together".
How will you be spending Mother’s Day this year?
Mother’s Day was and always is spent with the people you love and who love you - it’s not about big gifts, it’s about quality time together doing something you share for enjoyment.
Your daughters play such an integral role in running the show at RUBY. What does that mean to you?
Having my daughters running the business means so much to me. They collaborate and complement each other so well, yet are so different - it is one of my proudest things as a parent of daughters to see them work alongside each other with so much love and respect.
Is there a particular aspect of RUBY that captures the essence of it being a true family business?
Having a family business is one thing, but our family dynamic also carries through to the team at RUBY, especially when we all come together. Our family loves celebrating and sharing happy times and this love is translated most at RUBY's celebrations and gatherings - it’s all about the essence of love and fun. The team puts everything into a launch, an event, and even just a morning tea. The creative love and joy in our family shines through at RUBY every day.

In many ways, Deanna ~ our Creative Director ~ feels like RUBY’s mother figure too. While she may not be your daughter, how do you see the motherly instincts she brings to the brand + its community?
Deanna is a daughter from another mother who I have so much admiration for - her creative spirit and quiet determination encompasses what it really means to be a Rubette.
With our photobooth set up this weekend to celebrate all the mother figures in our Rubettes' lives, what’s something you hope they take away from the experience?
Mother’s day is all about being together - having time for love and sharing each other’s company. I just love this photobooth and I’m glad that Rubette’s can take home a token of the love shared on this special day.
