Deanna: Riley! Hello!

Riley: Hello!

Deanna: What are we doing right now?

Riley: We are shooting the RUBY Resort 2025 collection. It’s insane, I’m actually baffled. I just love the whole collection.

Deanna: Yes, we are up north at Langs Beach and we are so excited to have you here.

Riley: Aw, I’m excited to be here! We’ve got beautiful weather. We need to talk about the sausage that we didn’t actually bury, but we didn’t need to in the end!

Deanna: Oh yes, we actually meant to bury a sausage last night but we forgot.

Riley: We didn’t need to so it’s fine!

Deanna: We’re about halfway through the day, shooting and creating some absolute magic.

Deanna: So, Riley, tell me your favourite piece of the collection so far?

Riley: Oh, the dress I currently have on [Sophie Gown coming soon] is a standout; it's pretty special, but I really love all the striped pieces. I also love that fun print with the blue, brown, and pink.

Deanna: Oh yes, the frosted floral.

Riley: Yes! The frosted floral. Honestly, I don’t know how anyone is meant to choose their favourite piece, it’s unbelievable really.

Deanna: We’re here at a very amazing, authentic Kiwi bach, really trying to embrace that Kiwi summer feeling we all love and can’t wait for. And so, Riley, tell me, you're originally from Wellington and now live on the Gold Coast?

Riley: Yep!

Deanna: Happy to be back in New Zealand?

Riley: Soooo happy!

Deanna: What do you miss when you're away, and what do you look forward to when you come home?

Riley: I really feel like you cannot beat a New Zealand summer. I’ve been talking to a lot of my Australian friends recently and just saying no shoes, Mr Whippy comes by, the temperature is always perfect, not too hot. Just long beach days, but also, New Zealand snacks, I miss those. Seriously, so many gems.

Deanna: The best!

Deanna: It’s coming up to Mental Health Awareness Week, so how do you look after your mental health? What are some things you do to make sure you're feeling good?

Riley: I try to keep a good balance between work and fun things. Obviously, going for walks is really good but I just love my friends and hanging out with people, I feel like that’s my best mental health boost. But equally, if you need to just couch rot, couch rot! But not for too long, then you’ve got to get up and go for a walk.

Deanna: Tell us what made you excited to shoot the RUBY campaign today?

Riley: Well, I’ve been wearing RUBY for so long. When I think of iconic, especially Resort summer pieces, RUBY is a go-to. The way you guys do your patterns and pieces. They’re statement pieces but ones you’ll keep in your wardrobe forever. Also a big one for me is your sizing inclusivity. I think you do that incredibly well. RUBY has been a brand I’ve looked to for that... you just do it right. It’s easy to do it wrong, and you guys just nail it. When you sent me the mood board for the shoot, I was so excited. This bach is like so cute.

Deanna: When we started talking about the possibility of getting you to do this shoot, we were just all on board from the get go. We’re just so happy to have you here.

Riley: Aw, I’m happy to be here! Hope you all love it as much as we do.
