RUBY Denim Care Guide

Because like our team here at RUBY, our denim too “works hard and knows how to party”…

See our top tips on how we keep our denim favourites fresh for every day.

AIR AFTER WEAR

Over washing can reduce your denims lifespan by causing issues such as pilling, abrasion, loss of colour and holes. Less washing also means less water and electricity use. Who doesn’t love doing less laundry!

SPOT CLEAN BETWEEN WASHES

Denim benefits from the occasional spot clean or two. For small stains, spot clean with laundry detergent and leave to air dry.

LINE DRY IN SHADE

Conventional dryers use heat and motion to dry your garments which requires large amounts of electricity. Sun can damage the fibres causing bleach marks and fading of black fabrics. By hanging garments to dry in the shade, this can extend the life of your garment.

WASH ON A COLD CYCLE

When it comes time to wash, wash cold. Water in combination with heat can weaken textiles. In most cases, 30 degrees Celsius is sufficient for washing your clothes.

SEPERATE FROM OTHER COLOURS

Wash brights and darks with like colours to protect other items and to keep the vibrancy in fabrics. This is particularly important when washing new clothing as the dye settles after a few washes.
